CAN I KICK IT? brings a live-scored "Scarface" to the Lincoln Memorial this Saturday

The DC series CAN I KICK IT? screens Scarface with a live hip-hop and soul score by DJ 2-Tone Jones at the Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, September 5 - free and open to all.

One of the most quotable movies ever made is getting a live soundtrack on the National Mall this weekend. On Saturday, September 5, the DC-based series CAN I KICK IT? brings its "Gangsters on the Mall" screening to the Lincoln Memorial, pairing a showing of the 1983 classic Scarface with an original live score performed by DJ 2-Tone Jones.

The idea behind CAN I KICK IT? is simple and a little audacious: take a film everyone knows and rescore it in real time with a live soundtrack of hip-hop and soul, so the movie you've seen a dozen times feels new. Produced by Shaolin Jazz with production direction by Gerald Watson, the free outdoor series has been working its way across the city's most recognizable backdrops this summer, and this is its Lincoln Memorial stop.
