Atlanta Dream hand Mystics a 93-75 loss at CareFirst Arena

Washington dropped to 28-16 after Atlanta's Jordin Canada ran the show from the point, and Sonia Citron's 25 points weren't enough to keep the Mystics competitive at home.

Atlanta came into CareFirst Arena and left with a comfortable 93-75 win, handing the Washington Mystics a loss that was never really in doubt by the final quarter. The Dream improved to 30-14. Washington sits at 28-16.

Sonia Citron was the one bright spot for the Mystics. She finished with a game-high 25 points and did her part to keep Washington in the conversation early. Georgia Amoore ran the offense well enough, finishing with four assists. Kiki Iriafen cleaned up on the glass, pulling down 16 rebounds, and got on the board herself with an 8-foot turnaround jump shot off a Citron feed and a two-point make in the first period.

Atlanta was sharper. Jordin Canada controlled the pace from the moment the ball went up. She finished with 11 assists and seven rebounds, and she had her fingerprints on nearly every Atlanta run. She fed Allisha Gray for a 24-foot three, set up Angel Reese for a 2-foot layup, and hit Rhyne Howard twice in transition, including a 26-foot running jumper that pushed the lead. Canada also opened the scoring herself, burying a 23-foot three with Gray assisting.

Gray finished with 22 points for Atlanta. Howard was sharp too, converting two free throws, then connecting on a 24-footer off a Canada dish and that late running jumper. Shakira Austin added a pair of free throws for Washington, but the Mystics could not keep up with the Dream's pace or depth.

Iriafen's 16 rebounds gave Washington something to build on, at least on paper. But Atlanta outscored the Mystics by 18 and never let them get close enough to make it uncomfortable in the second half.

Canada's 11 assists were the number that told the story of the night.
