Adams Morgan PorchFest turns 18th Street into a free all-afternoon concert

More than 100 bands play porches, patios, and storefronts across Adams Morgan from noon to 5 p.m. on Nov. 7. Admission is free, and this year adds two curated outdoor markets to the mix.

Adams Morgan Fall PorchFest takes over the neighborhood on Saturday, Nov. 7, from noon to 5 p.m., with more than 100 bands spread across 20-plus stages on residential porches, business storefronts, and parks. The lineup runs from instrumental hip-hop and R&B to indie rock and blues, with set times starting on the hour at each location. Admission is free.

Washington City Paper named it Best Neighborhood Festival, and this fall edition adds two markets: Vintage on 18th for secondhand clothing and accessories, and Arts on Belmont for local artists and creatives. The Adams Morgan Partnership BID publishes a full map and schedule on its PorchFest page closer to the date.

Organizers ask attendees to skip the car. The Red Line stops at Woodley Park/Adams Morgan, about a 10-minute walk across the Ellington Bridge, and the Green Line's Columbia Heights station is also close. Info tents will be posted at 18th and Columbia Rd, near 18th and Belmont Rd, and near 18th and California St NW.
